The Studio
Behind the
Pictures

Corvid and Fern is an independent illustration studio led by two obsessive image-makers. We draw for magazines, book jackets, packaging and brands that want pictures with a point of view.

Realism, with a wink

Every commission starts with close looking — the fall of a heel, the print on a scarf, the clutter on a desk — and ends somewhere slightly stranger.

We work in a blend of careful observation and flat, graphic stylisation: true enough to recognise, bold enough to remember. Ten years across editorial desks, indie presses and packaging studios taught us how pictures carry a story, and how to deliver them on a magazine deadline.

From a single spot illustration to a full issue's visual world, we bring the same care to a thumbnail sketch as to the final artwork.
